Austin Peay State University Athletics

Vernon Porte joined Austin Peay in 2026 as defensive quality control after beginning his coaching career at Winona State. He assists with defensive game planning, opponent scouting, film breakdown and recruiting. 

Porte previously served as assistant defensive backs coach at Winona State after a four-year playing career with the Warriors. He also has experience producing football scouting reports and NFL Draft analysis while earning his degree in journalism with a minor in coaching.
