Austin Peay State University Athletics

William Flaherty joined Austin Peay in 2026 as defensive quality control after coaching defensive backs and coordinating special teams at Carthage College. He assists the Governors' defensive staff with game planning, film study, scouting and recruiting. 

Before arriving at Austin Peay, Flaherty helped Carthage rank among the NCAA Division III leaders in blocked kicks and blocked punts while coaching the secondary. He also completed a strength and conditioning internship at Yale following his collegiate playing career as a defensive back.
