Clarksville, Tenn. – Senior forward Averyl Ugba, of the Austin Peay State University men’s basketball team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.

The Silver Spring, Maryland native nearly led the Govs to an upset of Big Ten foe Illinois, hitting 7-of-10 from the floor for a team-high 15 points and eight rebounds. He hit 4-of-4 shots in the first half for nine points as the Govs took a 28-26 lead into the locker room against the Fighting Illini.

Since Nov. 22, Ugba is averaging 14.0 ppg and 6.6 rpg on 59.6 percent shooting.

The Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week is selected by the APSU Sports Information staff each Wednesday during the academic year. Copies in a Flash, of Clarksville, sponsors the award.

Other notable performances by Austin Peay athletes included:

• Junior forward Keisha Gregory, of the women’s basketball team, scored 17 points on 8-of-13 shooting, adding four assists in the Governors contest against Western Illinois, Saturday.
• Junior pole vaulter Savannah Amato, of the track and field team, won the pole vault in her season’s first attempt, topping the charts at the Saluki Fast Start with a 3.66m (12-0.0) mark.
