Clarksville, Tenn. – Junior outside hitter Jada Stotts, of Austin Peay State University volleyball team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.
Stotts was named Ohio Valley Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week after earning all-tournament honors at the USF Invitational hosted by South Florida. She recorded 71 kills (leading the Lady Gov offense in each match), averaging 5.07 kills per set and posting a .228 attack percentage.
The Hoffman Estates, Ill., native posted two 20-kill outings in Tampa Bay, scoring 21 kills against Miami and wrapping up the tournament with a 20-kill performance and outstanding .405 attack percentage against the Citadel.
The Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week is selected by the APSU Sports Information staff each Tuesday during the academic year. Copies in a Flash, of Clarksville, sponsors the award.
 
Other notable performances by Austin Peay athletes included:
  • Senior Tatiana Ariza, of the women’s soccer team, scored two goals – her conference-leading fourth and fifth tallies of the year – in Austin Peay’s shortened 3-0 victory against UALR in Friday’s home opener. It was her 11th career multi-goal game.  
  • Junior Darryl Clack, of the football team, caught three passes for a career-high 80 yards in the Govs season-opening loss at FBS opponent Tennessee, Saturday.
  • Senior Tala Mumford, of the women’s golf team, placed 13th with a three-round 237 (83-78-76) to lead Austin Peay to a third-place finish at the season-opening Chris Banister Golf Classic in Glencoe, Ala.
  • Senior Xiamar Richards, of the women’s cross country team, started her season out with a strong 18th-place finish out of 157 runners at the Brooks Memphis Twilight with an 18:45.36 mark.
