Clarksville, Tenn.–Senior pitcher Jacques Pucheu, of the Austin Peay State University baseball team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.

The Gulfport, Mississippi native went the distance in a 9-1 win, Friday, against Morehead State. Pucheu retired the first 10 batters he faced en route to his first career complete game and the first by a Gov since 2017. Along the way, he scattered six hits and one run while striking out eight.

For his efforts, Pucheu earned his third career Ohio Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week honor.

The Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week is selected by the APSU Sports Information staff each Wednesday during the academic year. Copies in a Flash, of Clarksville, sponsors the award.

Other notable performances by Austin Peay athletes included:

• Freshman Garrett Spain, of the baseball team, hit .462 during the Morehead State series with a double and two home runs. He drove in the game-winner in the second game against the Eagles and smoked three-run homer in the finale, earning OVC Player of the Week honors in the process.
• Senior Claudia Yanes Garcia, of the women’s tennis team, was unbeaten last weekend at Eastern Illinois and SIU Edwardsville, obliterating opponents 6-4, 7-5 and 6-2, 6-0 at No. 1 singles.
• Senior Reagan Greene, of the women’s golf team, just missed earning an all-tournament finish at the OVC Women’s Golf Championships; the Clarksville native carded a 220 (76-72-72) to place sixth, becoming the first Gov since Jessica Cathey (2013-14) with back-to-back top-10 Championship finishes.
