CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - Austin Peay State University women's track and field team will compete this weekend
inthe 16th annual Arkansas State Invitational indoor track and field meet, at ASU's Convocation Center in Jonesboro,
Ark.
The two-day event begins 3 p.m., Friday, and will conclude with the 4x400-meter relay, 5 p.m., Saturday.
The meet will be one of the season's most competitive for the Lady Govs, featuring teams such as Arkansas Little-
Rock, Grambling State, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Memphis and Ohio Valley Conference foes Murray State, South-
east Missouri State and Tennessee-Martin.
Last weekend, the Lady Govs were forced to leave Eastern Illinois' Mega Meet early due to snowy conditions.
Before leaving, Lady Govs that competed were successful.
Freshmen
Linnett Key and
Sherlonda Johnson each won their heat in the 60-meters with season-high times of 8.00
and 7.93 seconds, respectively.
Freshman
Portia Davis and sophomore
Cicely Sullivan finished second and third, respectively, in the long jump.
Davis jumped 17-feet, 11 3/4 inches while Sullivan jumped a season-high 17-feet, 3 1/4 inches.
