Former Bat Gov Mault signs with Frontier League's Ozark Ducks

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. ? Former Austin Peay State University's baseball pitcher
Jeff Mault has signed a professional
contract to play the 2005 season for the Springfield/Ozark Ducks of the independent Frontier League.
Mault transferred to Austin Peay in 2003 and was the team's closer, posting a school-record 10 saves and will leave as the
all-time career saves leader, recording 13 career saves in his two-year career. He was a two-time All-OVC selection as a
reliever in 2002 and a starter in 2003, being named OVC "Pitcher of the Year" after posting an 11-4 mark with 3.69 ERA in 75.2
innings. His 3.06 career ERA is second-best all-time at Austin Peay.
Former Govs pitcher and current Seattle Mariner George Sherrill began his trek towards major league baseball in the
Frontier League. He played for the league's Evansville franchise during the 1999 and 2000 seasons. Sherrill was the 10th
Frontier league alumnus to join the major league ranks this past summer.
The Ducks finished the 2004 season tied for third in the Frontier League's West Division.
