Wilson kicks his way to athlete of the week honor

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. ? Sophomore football player Bradley Wilson was named Pioneer Football League special teams
player of the week, and he picks up the Austin Peay State University Athlete of the Week award as well. The Govs defeated
Cumberland, 24-15, last Saturday.
Wilson connected on 3-of-4 field goals, hitting the mark from 26, 20 and 26 yards. His performance marks the first time since
1990 an APSU kicker has booted three single-game field goals. He also connected on an extra point, scoring 10 of the Govs'
total points.
The Marietta, Ga., native also punted the ball seven times, averaging 41.6 yards per punt. He placed five of those inside the
20-yard line, with one perfectly downed on the one-yard line.
The Austin Peay Athlete of the Week is selected by the APSU Sports Information staff each Tuesday during the academic
year.
Other notable performances last week included:
Sophomore Chris Fletcher (Clarksville) rushed for 153 yards on 21 carries and two touchdown runs (29 and 36 yards) in
the Govs' 24-15 defeat of Cumberland last Saturday.
Austin Peay women's volleyball players
Ashley Genslak (KauKauna, Wis.) and Allison Leonhard (Manitowok, Wis.)
were both named to the 2005 Hilton Garden Inn Challenge all-tournament team after their outstanding performances last
weekend. Genslak, a junior, averaged 3.57 kills per game while posting a team-best 27 points in the tournament's two
matches. True freshman Leonhard came off the bench for the Lady Govs to provide 12 kills off of 18 attempts, recording
a .556 attack percentage. She also chipped in five block assists.
In women's soccer, senior
Kaylee Yago and freshman Ashley Beck recorded the Lady Govs' only goals last week. Yago
(Greely, Colo.) scored the team's lone goal in the Lady Govs' 3-1 loss to Western Kentucky. Beck (Clarksville) led
Austin Peay's offense at Belmont, scoring the game's only goal.
Tim Hall (Madisonville) and Ryne Sexton (Henderson) led the men's cross country team to a 7th-place finish last
Saturday at the Memphis Twilight Classic. Meanwhile, Jamie Babb (Clarksville) and Melissa Nobbs (Delhi, Ontario,
Canada) led the women's team to a 12th-place finish.
