Lady Govs volleyball swept at Murray State

MURRAY, Ky. ? Austin Peay State University's volleyball team ran into an immovable object, Friday night, falling at Murray State in three games, 13-30, 21-30 and 18-30 in Ohio Valley Conference action.

The loss drops the Lady Govs to 8-19 overall, 3-12 in the OVC while host Murray State improves to 14-11 overall and 11-4 in conference.

It was a difficult night all around for the Lady Govs, who hit just .085 compared to .360 by the host Lady Racers. No Lady Gov had more than six kills (freshman Jessica Mollman) while another freshman, Taylor Skinner (.273 on 5 kills), was the only APSU player to hit better than 20 percent.

In addition, the Lady Govs were dominated at the net with just 4 blocks compared to 10 by Murray State. In addition, the Lady Racers had eight service aces compared to just one by the Lady Govs.

The Lady Govs will continue their two-match OVC road swing with a trip to Tennessee-Martin for a 5 p.m., Saturday match.
