Lady Govs basketball opens signing period with Kentucky?s Hanley

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. ? Austin Peay State University women's basketball head coach Carrie Daniels opened the 2007-08 early signing period with the addition of Whitney Hanley, of Mt. Washington, Ky.

Hanley, a 5-10 point guard, is entering her senior campaign at Bullitt East High School. She was ranked among Kentucky's top-24 prospects by Rick Bolus in his September 2007 report.

“We are extremely excited about adding Whitney to the Lady Govs family,” said Daniels. “She brings the total package as a player but more importantly as a person. Whitney is a versatile player who can play any of our three guard spots. She can handle the ball, sees the floor exceptionally well and has a great shot whether it's off the pass or off the dribble. I have no doubt she will have a tremendous career in an Austin Peay uniform."
