CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. ? Austin Peay State University baseball alumnus Dr. Timothy Fox will be the featured speaker at Austin Peay Baseball/Walmart First Pitch banquet, to be held at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 12, in the Morgan University Center on the Austin Peay campus.
Fox, a 1990 graduate who was a three-year pitcher for the Govs (1988-90), currently is an associate professor at the Emory School of Medicine teaching radiation oncology. He also is the director of Emory's Division of Medical Physics and Division of Computational Research and Informatics in the Department of Radiation Oncology. Fox also is an adjunct associate professor of nuclear engineering in the medical physics program of the Georgia Institute of Technology.
“I am looking forward to our annual 1st Pitch Banquet,” said Governors head coach Gary McClure. “I want to personally thank our local Wal-Mart stores for their sponsorship of this event which has been a great kickoff for our ticket sales and helped create a lot of interest in our program.
“Dr. Tim Fox played three seasons for me and played on two teams that were instrumental in turning our program around and helping it become a consistent winner. He is a tremendous speaker and I look forward to having him back to campus. This is an event both our coaches and players look forward to every year because it means the season is just around the corner.”
