CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. ? Austin Peay State University women's soccer team adds strength to their
offense with the addition of Moama,
New South Wales, Australia
native, Jocelyn Murdoch, bringing the 2008 signing class total to seven
players.
Murdoch primarily plays attacking
center mid, but can also contribute at the forward position. She was named co-captain
of the Premier team, which finished fifth nationally and also played on the
Shadow Australian team. She also was co-captain of her Victorian School U19
team, which competed for national championships four years in a row. She played
for the Sandringham women's soccer team, which participated in the Victorian
premier league competing against the top women's soccer competition in Australia.
“Jocelyn has competed at a very
high level as she has represented her state as a youth player at the national
competitions,” Lady Govs assistant coach Jeremy Sullivan said. “We are excited
to have her join our program in the fall. Jocelyn is an attacking player and
she has the potential to make an impact in 2008. She is a player who is very
sound technically and her ability to finish will be instrumental in our success
this fall.”
