CLARKSVILLE,
Tenn. ? Austin Peay State University completed its search for an assistant
athletic trainer, adding Autumn Davis, head athletic trainer Joni Johnson
announced, Monday. Davis will provide athletic training for Lady Govs soccer
and softball teams.
“I
am extremely excited to have Autumn on board as our newest staff member,”
Johnson said. “Autumn's previous educational and professional experience has
given her great knowledge of athletic training which should serve her and our
student-athletes well.”
Davis,
a Springfield, Ohio native, is a 2005 graduate of the University of Toledo with
a bachelor's of science in athletic training. She first began to further her
education at Georgia Southern, where she worked with volleyball, cross-country
and track and field. In fact, she assisted at the 2006 Southern Conference
Championships in each of those sports.
In
Spring 2006, she worked as a rehabilitation technician at the East Georgia
Regional Medical Center providing first aid to athletes during GSU intramural
sports events. From there, she moved to Bloomington, Ill., where she worked as
a graduate assistant at Illinois State.
At
Illinois State, she first worked with Advanced Physical Therapy Services
covering Central Illinois and Illinois Fusion soccer leagues. She also worked
with Bloomington High School and Bloomington's Sports Enhancement Center as an
athletic trainer.
“In
her professional training, she has worked with a diverse number of athletic
teams at both the high school and collegiate levels, which will only help her
as she continues her career at Austin Peay,” Johnson said. “Autumn is very
personable and a good fit for our athletics department, the University and the
Clarksville community.”
