CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. ? Austin Peay State University assistant track and field/cross country coach Adrian Wheatley has resigned his position to pursue other coaching opportunities.

Wheatley came to APSU in September 2006 after working two years as an assistant at College of Charleston. Wheatley worked with all facets of the Lady Govs track program, in particular with the middle distance runners, hurdlers and jumpers.

Wheatley was a two-time All-America track performer during his college days at Tennessee.

APSU track coach Doug Molnar immediately will begin a search for his replacement.

The Govs and Lady Govs cross country teams are off this weekend before resuming competition at Auburn next week.
