Notes and Quotes: Govs vs. Eastern Kentucky

  • Redshirt freshman quarterback Jake Ryan's first-quarter touchdown pass to junior wide receiver Adrian Mines was Ryan's first career touchdown toss and Mines' season's first. The 45-yard bomb was the longest pass play for the Govs this season.

  • Entering the game, the Govs had forced just seven turnovers on the season. Against Eastern Kentucky, the Govs forced four turnovers (three fumble recoveries and an interception).
  • Defensively, senior defensive tackle Antonio Faulkner and sophomore safety Amius Smith led the Govs. Faulkner recorded a sack, two tackles for loss (nine yards lost), a forced fumble, a quarterback hurry and four solo tackles. Smith recorded eight tackles (six solo), a half tackle for loss, a forced fumble and two pass break ups.
  • Junior tail back Terrence Holt had a career day, rushing for a career-high 176 yards on 16 carries and scoring two touchdowns. His 80-yard run in the first quarter was a career-long. Holt finished with 251 all-purpose yards, the fourth game this season he finished with over 200 all-purpose yards.
  • Holt has now scored two touchdowns in four consecutive games.
