Channels shares OVC Player of the Week honor

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn.-Wesley Channels, who played a huge role in Austin Peay State University's road victory at Ohio, has been named Ohio Valley Conference Co-Player of the Week.

This was Channels' first OVC Player of the Week of 2009-10 and third of his career-he twice earned the award during the 2008-09 season.

The 6-2 Memphis native scored 17 second-half points to lead Austin Peay back from a 13-point deficit to defeat Ohio, 68-66. That win snapped the Bobcats 30-game home non-conference winning streak while at the same also APSU head coach Dave Loos his 320th Govs victory, making him the OVC's all-time win leader.

Channels finished game with 22 points in the game, going 5-of-6 from three-point range (4-of-5 in second half) and 10 rebounds. It was his first career double-double.
