CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. ? Austin Peay State University women's tennis team is still searching for its season's first win after a 5-2 loss to Belmont, Friday. The Lady Govs fall to 0-3 and return to action on Saturday at Western Kentucky.
In doubles action,
Michelle Liew and Demitria Georgakopoulos claimed Austin Peay's only win at the No. 2 spot. Belmont won at No. 1 and No. 3 to take the doubles point and carried that momentum into the singles competition.
Liew continued her strong play, even after being shutout in the first set, 0-6. She bounced back to win in straight sets (6-4, 6-4) to take the No. 2 singles match. The
Lady Govs doubles win had an obvious effect as Georgakopoulos picked up the other APSU win (7-6, 6-4) over Lindsay Bennett at No. 3 singles.
