PEORIA, Ill.- Austin Peay travels to Peoria, Ill., Wednesday to play Bradley in the inaugural CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament.
Bradley enters the contest with an overall 18-14 record, including a fourth-place 10-8 Missouri Valley Conference record. The Braves lost in the MVC tourney semifinals to eventual champion Northern Iowa. They are led by All-Missouri Valley Conference forward Theron Wilson (14.0 ppg, 7.2 rpg) as well as sophomore guard Sam Maniscalco (12.4 ppg).
The Governors, meanwhile, ended in a second-place Ohio Valley Conference tie and lost in double overtime, 67-65, to Morehead State in the league tourney championship final.
The Govs are led by senior forward Drake Reed, a three-time All-OVC choice, is averaging 21.8 ppg and 7.4 rpg while junior guard Wes Channels, who was second-team All-OVC, is at 16.7 ppg.
The teams have three common opponents: Evansville, Drake and Southeast Missouri State. Bradley split its two Missouri Valley games with Drake and Evansville respectively, but defeated Southeast Missouri State, 75-62, Dec. 14 in Peoria. Austin Peay dropped a 70-62 decision at Evansville in the season opener, as well as a 71-54 ESPNU BracketBuster contest, Feb. 21 at Drake. The Govs swept their OVC series against Southeast Missouri.
