CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. ? Austin Peay State University men's tennis team dropped a close 4-3 match to SIU Edwardsville, Friday. The Govs to 2-9 overall while SIUE improves to 4-10 overall.

The doubles point cost the Govs, Friday, against the Cougars. Govs No. 1 doubles tandem of Leonardo Locatelli and Lucas De Brito battled to a 9-8 win, marking their second straight win. However, Austin Peay came up short at No. 2 doubles, losing 8-6, and dropped the No. 3 doubles match 8-3.

On the singles side, the Govs and Cougars split evenly at 3-3. De Brito won in straight sets at No. 2, Renan Bezerra won at No. 3 and Francisco La Puente won at No. 4. The Cougars got wins the rest of the way, and with the doubles, won the match.

Austin Peay returns to action on the road with a 2 p.m., Wednesday, match at Murray State.
