CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. ? Austin Peay State University men's tennis team claimed victory at No. 1 singles but that proved to be their only point in dropping a 6-1 Ohio Valley Conference decision to Eastern Illinois, Saturday, played at both the APSU Tennis Courts and the Governors Tennis Center.

The afternoon's action began outside but weather forced the teams to finish indoors.

Leo Locatelli was APSU's only victor, claiming a 6-4, 7-5 decision against Jeff Rutherford at No. 1 singles. At No. 2 singles, Lucas De Brito lost a three-set match to Jordan Nestrud, falling in the final set 7-6. In addition, No. 4 singles player Paco LaPuente lost a 7-6, 7-6 match to Matyas Hilgert.

The loss drops Austin Peay to 2-10 overall and 0-3 in the OVC.
