BOWLING GREEN, Ky. ? Austin Peay State University women's track and field team got some good performances to build on heading into next week's Ohio Valley Conference Championships at the Western Kentucky Invitational, Saturday.

Freshman Janelle Avery had a mark of 4:57.59 in the 1500-meter run, finishing fifth. In the field events, senior Leeann White, returning from injury, snagged a third place finish in the long jump with a season-best 5.74 meter (18-10.00) leap, while senior Amy Josephson finished third in the javelin with a season-best 32.18 meter (105-07) throw.

The Lady Govs will head to Richmond, Ky. next weekend for the OVC Championships.
