EVANSVILLE, Ind. - Austin Peay women's tennis team picked up its second straight win, a 4-3 decision at Evansville, Friday night.

The Lady Govs won the doubles point, taking the top two matches. Sophomore Vanja Tomic and senior Mariana Pagan won at NO. 1 doubles, while freshman Carolin Weikard and senior Michelle Liew pitched a shutout, 8-0, at No. 2 doubles.

Heading into singles play, the Lady Govs needed to win three matches and that's just what they got. Weikard flew to a win at No. 2, as did Pagan at No.3 and Liew at No. 4 singles. Tomic, meanwhile, had a tough run at No. 1 singles, falling to Kate Chybowski in a second-set tiebreaker.

Austin Peay returns to action when it plays two matches, Feb. 13, in Memphis. The first is a 1 p.m., affair with Samford, followed by a 5 p.m. match against Memphis.
