Box Score CLARKSVILLE - Austin Peay State
University won its second-straight Ohio Valley Conference match with a
three-set sweep (25-18, 25-16, 25-19) of Tennessee State, Tuesday, at the Dunn
Center.
Austin Peay (6-15, 4-6 OVC) had
a very clean night offensively, committing just nine errors in 100 attack
attempts. The Lady Govs finished with 35 kills and a .260 attack percentage. Austin
Peay also finished with seven blocks and 51 digs, outpacing Tennessee State in
both categories.
Tennessee State (10-7, 6-4 OVC)
was not nearly as efficient, committing 26 attack errors against 39 kills and
finishing with a .102 attack percentage. The Tigers cause also was hurt by
errors throughout the box score, including nine service errors and five reception
errors.
Senior outside hitter Ilyanna Hernandez
led the Lady Govs with 10 kills. Sophomore middle blocker Lauren Henderson had
nine kills, a .500 attack percentage and three blocks to earn Copies in a Flash
Player of the Match honors.
Senior outside hitter Terakka
Walker led Tennessee State with 15 kills and senior middle blocker Shaquita
Williams chipped in 10 kills and three blocks.
Austin Peay, which is 3-1
during its current home stand, closes out the stretch with a 6 p.m., Friday
contest against second-place UT Martin.
