CLARKSVILLE - Austin Peay State University women's basketball head coach Carrie Daniels announced Friday sophomore guard Neika Smith has declared her intent to transfer following the conclusion of the current academic semester.

Smith, of Fort Myers, Fla., played in 43 games during her three-year career at Austin Peay. She missed the 2008-09 season due to an injury and returned to play 24 games as a redshirt freshman in 2009-10, averaging 1.8 points per game. This past season, Smith played in 19 contests and averaged 1.5 points per game.

"We understand Neika's desire to transfer and support her decision," said Daniels. "I wish Neika and her family the best."
