Box Score

CLARKSVILLE - Austin Peay State University's volleyball team will enter the postseason following the sting of a loss after dropping a three-set Ohio Valley Conference decision (25-13, 25-22, 25-19) to regular-season champion Morehead State.

With the win, Morehead State (24-6, 16-0 OVC East) completed an undefeated run through OVC play - the first to do so since 2006 - and will host the OVC Volleyball Championship that will begin Thursday. Austin Peay (17-15, 10-6 OVC West) finished second in its division and will be the No. 4 seed in the tournament.

Morehead State dominated play in the first and third sets, winning in wire-to-wire fashion. Austin Peay put forth a valiant effort in the second set and actually won the hitting battle, recording 14 kills and a .130 attack percentage against the Eagles 12 kills and .102 attack percentage. However, Morehead State scored eight of the final 11 points to pick-off the Set 2 win.

Junior middle blocker Lauren Henderson led Austin Peay with a 12-kill, .611 attack percentage performance. Senior Nikki Doyle added 10 kills and 12 digs in her final home match.

Morehead State's Ellie Roberson led all hitters with 19 kills at a .417 attack percentage.

The schedule for the 2012 OVC Volleyball Championship will be released later Saturday.
