CLARKSVILLE - Austin Peay women's tennis team completed a sweep of the Boulevard with a 7-0 win against Lipscomb, Saturday.
It was the second-straight win for a Lady
Govs team that had seen its fair share of struggles through the season's early going.
After gaining their season's first win, Friday, against Belmont, the Lady Govs
rolled past mid-state rival Lipscomb.
Austin Peay won the doubles point, also its
second-straight, and never looked back in singles play. Vanja Tomic and Alison Carre picked up the No. 1 doubles win, while it was Andra Cornea and Ornella Di Salvo getting the win at No. 2.
In singles play, the Lady Govs won the top
five matches and Lipscomb defaulted at No. 6. Each match went in straight sets
except Carre's at No. 3 singles. Carre lost the first set, but rebounded to win
the second and then the tiebreaker.
