COOKEVILLE - Austin Peay State University men's tennis dropped its season's first Ohio Valley Conference match, Tuesday, falling 4-3 at Tennessee Tech.

It was a battle of the league's undefeated teams when the Govs and Golden Eagles took the courts, Tuesday afternoon, and it came down to a three-set match at No. 6 singles. APSU freshman Iago Seffrin took the first set, but let a late lead against Vasily Eremeev slip away.

Austin Peay allowed Tennessee Tech an early lead in the match, dropping all three doubles matches. Junior John Storie and sophomore Jasmin Ademovic came up just short at No. 2 doubles, unable to win the tiebreaker.

Singles play saw the match even quickly as freshman Aleksas Tverijonas won his seventh-straight match and improved to 5-0 in OVC play at No. 4 singles. The Govs would get only two more singles' wins, coming at the top two positions.

Junior Sean Bailey improved to 6-0 in league play at No.1 while Ademovic did the same at No. 2 singles. Bailey's win at No. 1, however, would come only after Seffrin dropped the deciding match.
