Postgame Note: Austin Peay vs. Wright State

Postgame notes following Austin Peay's 85-73 season-opening loss to Wright State:

  • Junior guard Tiasha Gray, who was named Player of the Game, set a career single-game high in scoring with 37 points.
  • It was the first time a Lady Gov scored more than 35 points in a single game since Whitney Hanley had 38 against Morehead State (2/29/2012).
  • Gray also set a single-game high in three point field goals made (6) breaking her old mark of 4 against SIUE (1/4/14), while tying her career-high in free throws made (9) matching her effort against Southeast Missouri (2/3/14).
  • The 37 points for Gray also marks the 10th time in her career she has scored 20 or more points in a single game.
  • Junior forward Symantha Norton set a career single-game high with 11 rebounds and led APSU in rebounding for the first time.
  • Sophomore guard April Rivers scored 10 points, the second consecutive year she has scored 10 or more points in a season-opening contest.
  • Austin Peay surrendered 52 rebounds, including 23 offensive rebounds. Wright State ended the game with a 20-6 edge in second chance points.
  • With the 85-73 loss, Austin Peay's losing streak stands at seven, dating back to the end of last season.
  • Austin Peay's non-conference losing streak was extended to eight games.
