Lady Govs to host Murray State at Austin Peay Intercollegiate

CLARKSVILLE- After opening up the season with two meets on the road, the Austin Peay State University women's cross country will now host its only home meet of the year with the Austin Peay Intercollegiate at 5 p.m.. Friday at the Family Life Center Cross Country Course.

The Lady Govs last competed Sept. 5, at the Powerade Invitational, hosted by Chattanooga at Moccasin Bend., The Lady Govs were led in the two mile race by sophomore Molly Jordan (12:11.70), senior Jessica Gray (12:11.99) and freshman Becca Wheeler (12:39.09).

The Lady Govs will be running a five-kilometer race, facing off with Ohio Valley Conference rival Murray State.

"We have had two good weeks of practice", said head coach Doug Molnar. "Molly has been our number one runner the first couple of meets., This meet is another step on the road to conference and I believe we can be competitive against our rival."

Austin Peay will take a week off from competition before traveling to compete in the JSU Foothills Invitational at 9:15 a.m.. Oct. 4 in Oxford, Alabama.
