Govs host Abilene Christian in home debut

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Austin Peay State University men's tennis team opens its 2015 home slate when it welcomes Abilene Christian for a 3 p.m., Friday match at the Austin Peay Tennis Center.

The Govs enter the match with a 1-0 record, having defeated Chattanooga, 4-3, last weekend. Against the Mocs, seniors Dimitar Ristovski and Aleksas Tverijonas gained wins at the top two singles positions, while sophomores Aaron Jumonville and James Mitchell also picked up victories in singles play.

Abilene Christian has started its season with a record of 0-2 entering play Thursday, having lost to Troy and SMU last weekend.  The Wildcats return four players who earned All-Southland Conference honors last season. 

After hosting the Wildcats, the Govs will return to action with a back-to-back home matches to open up February play.  Austin Peay will host Southern Illinois at 4 p.m., Friday, Feb. 6 before taking on Lipscomb at noon, Saturday, Feb 7 at the Austin Peay Tennis Center.
