BRUNSWICK, Ga.– Austin Peay State University men's tennis team completed its trip to Georgia on a positive note as the Govs defeated Coastal Georgia 6-3, Tuesday at the Marta B. Torrey Tennis Complex.

In doubles play, which counted as a point per match as opposed to the customary best two-of-three winging the point format, Austin Peay (5-4), was led by the duo of sophomore Aaron Jumonville and senior Aleksas Tverijonas who cruised to an 8-1 victory at the No. 2 position.  The Govs were able to pick up an additional point with the pairing of freshman Oleg Drobysh and junior Evan Borowski earning an 8-5 victory at the No. 3 slot.

In singles action, both Tverijonas and Jumonville were able to complete undefeated afternoons when Tverijonas cruised to a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Rhan Burton at the No. 2 slot and Jumonville earned a hard fought 6-1, 1-6, 6-3 victory over Robin Lucas at No. 3.  In other singles matches, senior Dimitar Ristovski earned a 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 victory at No. 1 singles while sophomore Manuel Montenegro claimed a 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 victory at the No. 5 position.

The Govs return to the court when they open Ohio Valley Conference play with a March, 17 contest at Murray State.
