Lady Govs continue OVC play against Panthers and Cougars

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Austin Peay State University women's tennis team continues Ohio Valley Conference play when it travels to Eastern Illinois for a 10:30 a.m., Friday contest before visiting SIU Edwardsville for a 10 a.m., Saturday match.

The Lady Govs enter the weekend with a 2-11 record and 0-3 mark in OVC play. In their last match, the Lady Govs dropped a 7-0 decision over UT Martin on Tuesday.

Eastern Illinois (6-3, 1-0 OVC) enters the weekend fresh off of a 5-0 victory over Tennessee State last Friday.  The Panthers are led by freshman Grace Summers and junior Ali Foster.  Summers has picked up a 5-3 record at the No. 2 singles position while Foster has earned an 8-1 record playing at primarily at No. 3 singles.

SIUE (6-7, 2-0 OVC) enters the weekend having shutout Belmont and Tennessee State last Sunday. The Cougars are led by sophomores Lexi Arnada and Mia Frogner.  Arnada has recorded at 10-3 record at No. 1 singles while Frogner has earned an 8-4 mark at the No. 2 position.

After playing the Panthers and Cougars, the Lady Govs will return home to host Morehead State in a 2 p.m., March 27 contest at the Governors Tennis Courts.
