CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Austin Peay State University women's tennis team is looking to build on recent momentum when it visits Kennesaw State for a 2 p.m., Saturday match in Kennesaw, Ga.
The Lady Govs enter the weekend with a 1-7 record, and earned their first win of the season last weekend when they defeated Lindsey Wilson, 4-3. Seniors Vanessa Tavares and Ornella Di Salvo went 2-0 against the Blue Raiders, as did sophomore Hannah Tatlock.
Kennesaw State is off to a 0-6 start to the season. The Owls are led by seniors Virginie Stein and Jana Heuckinghaus. The duo has compiled a 2-2 record at No. 1 doubles and occupy the top two positions in the starting lineup. Â
After playing the Owls, the Lady Govs will remain on the road, taking on College of Coastal Georgia in a 1 p.m., Wednesday contest in Brunswick, Ga.
