CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Austin Peay State University women's tennis team continues Ohio Valley Conference play when it hosts Belmont in a 2 p.m., Friday contest at the Austin Peay Indoor Tennis Center before taking on Tennessee State in a 9 a.m., Saturday match in Nashville.
The Lady Govs enter the weekend with a 2-15 record and a 0-7 mark in OVC play. In their last match, the Lady Govs dropped a 5-0 decision to Eastern Kentucky last Saturday.
Belmont (3-12, 0-4 OVC) enters the weekend having dropped a 5-2 decision to Jacksonville State last weekend. The Bruins are led by sophomores Lindsey Whitehead and Laura Van Eeckhoudt who occupy top two singles positions.Â
TSU (0-10, 0-6 OVC) enters the weekend having lost to Alabama State in its most recent outing. The Tigers are led by senior Attallah Eiland and freshman Phyllcia Hemphill who play at the No. 1 and 2 singles positions.
After playing the Bruins and Tigers, the Lady Govs will return home to host Jacksonville State in a 10 a.m., April 10 contest at the Governors Tennis Courts.
