CLARKSVILLE – Austin Peay State University's volleyball team returns home for a quick two-match Ohio Valley Conference homestand when it hosts Jacksonville State and Tennessee Tech this weekend. The Governors host the Gamcocks in a 6 p.m., Friday contest before facing Tennessee Tech in a 2 p.m., Saturday matchup.
Friday's contest will pit two of the OVC's co-leaders against each other as the surprising Govs and Gamecocks face off. Austin Peay and Jacksonville State are both among the nation's most improved teams this season and sit atop the OVC after being picked to finish among the league's bottom three squads.
Austin Peay and Tennessee Tech will recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month during their Saturday contest – the Governors annual Peay-nk Out match. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to show their support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

A ROTATION OF KNOWLEDGE
- STAYING ATOP THE HEAP. The Governors enter the halfway point of the OVC race tied for 1st place with Murray State and Jacksonville State. Meaning Friday's contest against Jacksonville State is another match up of 1st place OVC squads.
- HEAD-TO-HEAD FOR 1ST PLACE. Friday's match against the Gamecocks will be the 2nd straight match the Govs have faced one of the league's co-leaders. They defeated SIUE in 5 sets, Saturday, to narrow the list of 1st place squads.
- STUCKER SETS THE STAGE. Sophomore Kristen Stucker ended the weekend as the OVC's assists leader (39th nationally), with 739 total assists. Her 9.85 assists per set is third in the league and 95th nationally.
- GERIG ACING SERVE. Since the start of OVC play, freshman Ginny Gerig has posted 12 service aces, tying for most in the OVC. Her 0.57 aces per set leads the league. Gerig has paced an APSU service game that leads the OVC averaging 2.29 aces per set.
- AMONG THE MOST IMPROVED. Entering this weekend's action, Austin Peay is the 7th most-improved club in Division I, its 14-7 record a 7-game improvement over last season's 6-15 mark at the same time. They are one of three OVC teams (SIUE and Eastern Kentucky) ranked among the Division's Top 25 most improved.
- GOVS STILL STREAKING. Austin Peay jumped right back into its winning ways after its loss to Murray State, Sept. 27. The Govs have won their last three matches and now have won 9 of their last 10 contests over the last 4 weeks.
