Austin Peay soccer earns NSCAA Team Academic Award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Austin Peay State University women's soccer team was one of nine Ohio Valley Conference schools to earn NSCAA Team Academic Award recognition for excellence in the classroom.

A total of 892 soccer teams (314 men, 578 women) from throughout the United States have earned the NSCAA Team Academic Award. Among these programs are 222 schools receiving honors for both their men and women's teams. The remaining OVC schools to be recognized are Belmont, Eastern Illinois, Eastern Kentucky, Jacksonville State, Murray State, Southeast Missouri, SIUE and Tennessee Tech.

To qualify for the award, the team must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the entire academic year. The team GPA is determined by adding every player's GPA, then dividing by the number of players.

Austin Peay finished the 2015-16 academic year with a 3.39 GPA.
