Govs baseball broadcast schedule announced, OVCDN broadcasts added

CLARKSVILLE – Austin Peay State University's athletics department will present all 30 home baseball contests on the OVC Digital Network, beginning with the Govs' 3:30 p.m., Friday home opener against Bradley.

In addition, the Governors Sports Network, led by ESPN Clarksville 100.7 FM, will broadcast 55 of the Govs' 56 baseball games during the upcoming season as well as any postseason contests.

Austin Peay's complete baseball broadcast schedule is available on the Austin Peay athletics website (www.LetsGoPeay.com) by visiting the baseball schedule page. Fans can click on the Details link to see specific options for each game.

Now in its fourth season, the OVC Digital Network (www.OVCDigitalNetwork.com) is an online digital video portal that presents athletic contests and special events from each of the Ohio Valley Conference's 11 members. Digital video presented by the OVC Digital Network can be seen free on any computer, tablet or smart phone.

The 2014-15 season featured over 800 total events with 400,000 viewers watching the sports of football, basketball, soccer, volleyball, softball and baseball. Schools also produced and aired coaches shows, graduation ceremonies and other ancillary events. In addition, the league office presented streams for league championships in soccer, volleyball, women's basketball, baseball and softball as well as the opening rounds of the men's basketball tournament

New features were added for the 2015-16 season that will make viewing better for fans. A "DVR" function allows any viewer to rewind and/or fast forward to any point of the contest while it is live; previously a fan could only rewind the stream 30 seconds. The other function is an "instant archiving" feature that will allow fans to watch a replay of the contest immediately after the event concludes.

The Governors Sports Network is a collaboration between Austin Peay Athletics and the Five Star Media Group. The radio broadcasts originate on ESPN Clarksville 100.7 FM and also are presented online at LetsGoPeay.com. Brian Rives and Van Stokes will team up to provide play-by-play throughout the season.
