APSU concludes homestand against Wright State, Saturday

CLARKSVILLE - Austin Peay State University women's tennis team will have the home court advantage Saturday morning as they face the Wright State Raiders at 10 a.m., from the Governors Tennis Center.

Wright State traveled to Ohio earlier this year where they battled with the Dayton Flyers. The Raiders tied with Dayton in the singles portion of the match (3-3) but continued to finish the match with a 4-3 winning score.

The Govs also faced the Flyers earlier this season. At the beginning of the match with the Flyers, Austin Peay also held a draw in singles play, but then fell in the doubles portion of the match (1-3), dropping the match 3-4.

Despite their slow start to the regular season this year, the Govs have high hopes that their top three winning players, Claudia Yanes Garcia (4-1), Lidia Yanes Garcia (3-2), and newcomer Helena Kuppig (2-3), will lead the team in turning the corner before Ohio Valley Conference play begins.
