The Fast Five | Streaking

Because LetsGoPeay.com endeavors to keep up with the latest trends in internet and journalism, it's been brought to our attention that people enjoy lists. Every week during the academic year (save a Christmas break, because you should spend time with loved ones over studiously obsessing over our #content), we'll give you the Fast Five—five things to know or watch for around APSU athletics in the coming days.

31496 After dispatching a ranked opponent for the first time since 2011, the Governors football team looks to run its win streak to four games—last accomplished during the 1980 campaign—against Jacksonville State. A win and Eastern Illinois loss would give the Govs sole possession of first place in the OVC.

31507

Can Kristen Stucker continue her legendary run? The Johnston, Iowa native—and Austin Peay's inaugural Chick-Fil-A Athlete of the Month—has won three straight OVC Setter of the Week honors and five of six awarded this season. Another weekly honor would tie her for most in a single season since the league began giving out the award in 2008, and another honor next week would equal the league record for most consecutive weekly setter awards.
31518 Austin Peay soccer looks to continue its home field success with contests against Southeast Missouri and UT Martin. The Govs have won six straight at home—tying the program-record initially set in 2010—and have not lost home contests to the Skyhawks or Redhawks since 2011.
31529 After a three-win showing for Christian Edison at the ITA All-American Championships this past weekend, the men's tennis team is off to Macon, Georgia for the Mercer Gridiron Classic. Edison is one of a trio of newcomers who have jumped right into head coach Ross Brown's six-man lineup.
31540 And finally, Austin Peay looks to assert its dominance as conference top dog in volleyball against Eastern Kentucky this weekend before stepping out of conference play against Western Kentucky, Tuesday. The Govs put an 11-match winning streak on the line against the Colonels, including the league's lone unbeaten mark in conference play.

That's this week's Fast Five. Good luck to all our teams in action this week and Let's Go Peay!
