CLARKSVILLE – The Austin Peay State University women's tennis team dropped its regular season finale Friday afternoon 5-2 to Eastern Kentucky in an Ohio Valley Conference match on Senior Day.
The Colonels picked up the doubles point after wins at No. 1 doubles and No. 3 doubles to take an early 1-0 lead in the match.
The Govs took a 2-1 lead when twins Lidia Yanes Garcia and Claudia Yanes Garcia won their No. 1 and No. 2 singles matches by scores of 6-2, 6-4. Lidia polished off the regular season undefeated in OVC after the win.
EKU rallied to take the final four singles matches and clinch the 5-2 win.
APSU will await its fate in the OVC Tournament after matches conclude Saturday.
