KYMIS, Greece—Former Austin Peay State University men's basketball player Chris Horton was named Greek A1 League Player of the Week for his work against PAOK last week.
Horton put up 24 points and 15 rebounds for his club against the league's fifth-place unit and has emerged as Kymis' best player, averaging 12.8 ppg and 5.8 rpg through the young season. He's also shooting 64.1 percent from the floor and has developed into one of the better American performers in a league that includes former NCAA standouts Nigel Williams-Goss (Gonzaga), Malik Pope (San Diego State) and Nick Calathes (Florida).
Horton spent a year in the NBA G-League with the Grand Rapids Drive before moving to Alba in the Hungarian A-Division last year, where he averaged 8.8 ppg, 6.6 rpg and 1.8 bpg before moving on to Greece.
