BRENTWOOD – Sophomore Michael Busse, of the Austin Peay State University men's golf team, notched a career best at last weekend's Invitational at Savannah Harbor and was named the adidas® OVC Male Co-Golfer of the Week, Wednesday.

Busse, of Rochester Hills, Michigan, fired a final-round 70 and career-best four-under par 212 for the tournament to finish third at last weekend's Invitational at Savannah Harbor. His effort helped lead the Govs to a second-place finish in the tournament who soundly paced OVC rivals Tennessee Tech and Belmont.

It is Busse's first career adidas® OVC Male Golfer of the Week honor and first by a Govs men's golfer this season.

He becomes the fifth Governors athlete recognized by the league this week. Averyl Ugba was named men's basketball Newcomer of the Week, Brandon Vial earned baseball co-pitcher of the week, Tymetiha Tolbert picked up women's track athlete of the week and Savannah Amato nabbed women's field athlete of the week.

The Governors men's golf team is amidst a two-week break before return to action March 5-6 at Loyola's Fort Lauderdale Intercollegiate in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
