CLARKSVILLE – Austin Peay State University women's tennis team gets its home schedule underway with a 2 p.m., Sunday match against Chattanooga at the Governors Indoor Tennis Center.
The match was originally scheduled for Jan. 15, but was postponed due to inclement weather.
As a result of recent weather, the Govs (0-1) have had no matches since dropping a tough decision against Middle Tennessee in their season opener, Jan. 14. However, Lidia Yanes Garcia and Fabienne Schmidt each picked up singles wins to start their individual campaigns off.
The Mocs (2-0) have gotten off to a great start, defeating Ohio Valley Conference-member Belmont 5-2 and familiar foe Lipscomb 4-2.
Although the Govs lost to Chattanooga last spring, they went 2-1 in singles against Mocs' opponents this past fall, getting wins in September from Ana Albertson and Lidia Yanes Garcia.
