Because LetsGoPeay.com endeavors to keep up with the latest trends in internet and journalism, it's been brought to our attention that people enjoy lists. Every week during the academic year (at long last, spring has… wait, why is 40 degrees outside?), we'll give you the Fast Five—five things to know or watch for around APSU athletics in the coming days.

Saturday is for Governors football, which hosts the annual Spring Showcase at 11 a.m. at Fortera Stadium. Stop by to see what Eddie Robinson National Coach of the Year Will Healy, OVC Freshman of the Year Jeremiah Oatsvall and All-American Jaison Williams and the rest of the Govs have been up to this spring.

At 5-1, Austin Peay baseball sits tied atop the OVC standings as the Govs head into a pivotal road matchup against Tennessee Tech, the conference co-leader. The Govs, led by Michael Costanzo and Jacques Pucheu (ranking second and third in the league in strikeouts), will have their hands full against a Golden Eagle offense slugging more than 200 points higher than any team in the league.

For those looking to get their track and field fix, Austin Peay is just down I-24 this weekend at the Vanderbilt Black and Gold, where now-junior pole vaulters Savannah Amato and Dascha Hix made their outdoor debuts two years ago. This time around, another talented freshman is scheduled to make her inaugural foray into outdoor track and field, with Lennex Walker slated to compete.

Thanks to the pitching of Morgan Rackel and Kelly Mardones, each of whom possess sub-2.00 ERA's, the Governors softball team enters the first weekend of OVC play winners of nine of their last 10 games. As a team, the Govs are hitting .281, led by Danielle Liermann's .412 mark.

After a rain-shortened Citrus Classic that saw Austin Peay finish fourth as a team and junior Reagan Greene snag runner-up honors as an individual, the Govs get back on the course this weekend at SIU's Saluki Invitational. Last season, Ashton Goodley placed fifth in this event, while alum Amber Bosworth sank a hole-in-one during the second round.

That's this week's Fast Five. Good luck to all our teams in action this week and Let's Go Peay!
