LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Wrapping up the final two days of the Louisville Fall Invitational, Austin Peay State University's duo of Anton Damberg and Julius Gold fell in the Flight G Doubles Final, Sunday, at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center

Day Two Recap

At the beginning of day two the Govs had two chances to send doubles pairs to their Flight's finals. The pair of Christian Edison and Jacob Lorino fell in their semifinals match, 6-3. In Flight G, the duo of Damberg and Gold knocked off Belmont's Reuff/Franks, 6-2, to advance to the flight finals.

In singles play, Edison advanced to the consolation finals in Flight D, beating Kennesaw State's Harvery Conway, 4-6 6-4 10-6, to advance. In Flight F, Lorino was knocked off in a tough consolation semifinals match, 7-6 7-6. Damberg fell in the first consolation round of Flight F, 7-5 6-0.

Freshman Julius Gold, the only Governor to win his first round singles match, was defeated, 6-2 6-4 in the Flight G quarterfinals. The other freshman Gov, Thiago Nogueria, won his first consolation match in Flight H, 7-5 6-3.

Day Three Recap

The third day of the Louisville Fall Invitational was a quick day for the Governors. The feature match of the day was the Flight G Doubles final, which saw the Governor duo of Damberg and Gold fall to Eastern Illinois' Charbonneau and Riera, 7-5.

In the Flight D consolation finals, Edison defeated Butler's Ryan Roegner, 6-0 7-6. After dropping his opening match, Edison got on a roll winning three in a row to take the consolation final. Nogueira was scheduled to compete in the Flight H consolation final, but no results were reported on the match.

The Governors will take the next week off from competition, before firing it back up for the Ohio Valley Regional, Oct. 24-29, in Nashville. After the Ohio Valley Regional, it will be a quick turnaround for the Govs, who will compete in the UTC – Steve Baras Fall Invitational to conclude the fall schedule.
