CLARKSVILLE - Austin Peay State University men's tennis team fell to one of the top teams in the Ohio Valley Conference, Tennessee Tech, Sunday, at the Governors Tennis Center.

The Governors (5-13, 1-2 OVC) faced an uphill battle from the start, as the Golden Eagles rattled off a 6-0 win at No. 3 doubles. With a 6-3 win at No. 1 doubles, the Golden Eagles took a 1-0 lead going into single.

Unfortunately for the Govs, the Golden Eagles started strong in singles as well. They won at No. 3 singles without dropping a game to go up 2-0, before the Preseason No. 1 ranked player in the OVC, Rafael Tosetto, defeated Almantas Ozelis at No. 1 singles in a well-contested match.

The Golden Eagles clinched the match with a straight-set win at No. 4 singles. Christian Edison won the second set of his match at the No. 2 singles spot in a tiebreak, but he eventually fell in three sets. The Golden Eagles also won at No. 5 and No. 6 singles in straight sets.

The Govs head to Eastern Illinois next Friday in their penultimate match of the regular season.
