Another road trip awaits as the Govs venture to Johnson City for the first time since 1978 to take on ETSU. It's the second week in a row the Govs will visit a Southern Conference foe and in doing so, will become the first Ohio Valley Conference team to visit the Bucs since ETSU brought football back in 2015.

Later Thursday night, the soccer team opens OVC play by hosting SIU Edwardsville at Morgan Brothers Soccer Field. Reigning OVC Defensive Player of the Week Renee Semaan and Keeper of the Week Mary Parker Powell have the Govs looking to remain unbeaten in conference openers since 2015.

Austin Peay's annual home cross-country meet, the APSU Cross Country Festival, kicks off bright and early Saturday morning at Eastland Green's South Course. Led by Thomas Porter on the men's side and Emmaculate Kiplagat on the women's, this will be Valerie Brown's first home meet as Governors head coach.

The fourth of four in-season tournaments kicks off Friday for Austin Peay volleyball at the Ball State Active Ankle Challenge in Muncie. It will be a homecoming of sorts for a pair of Govs, with Mimi Arrington and Tegan Seyring both hailing from nearby Yorkville; another Gov, Chloe Stitt, played with that duo in club volleyball for Munciana.

Be on the lookout for Austin Peay football players, coaches and administrators next week as the excitement builds for the Govs to host nationally-ranked Jacksonville State at Fortera Stadium, next Saturday.

That's this week's Fast Five. Good luck to all our teams in action this week and Let's Go Peay!
