CLARKSVILLE – After a busy weekend on the road, Austin Peay State University athletics is set for a big weekend at home; with both basketball teams set to host Murray State for the First Financial Bank Battle of the Border, Thursday, before the baseball team kicks off their season, Friday, against Eastern Michigan.
To preview a weekend full of basketball and opening weekend for baseball, head coaches Matt Figger, David Midlick, and Travis Janssen join the Austin Peay Coaches Show, starting at 6 p.m., Tuesday at Buffalo Wild Wings on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard presented by Five Star Radio Group and the Hand Family Companies.
This week, Figger and Midlick will join host Brian Rives to recap a weekend full of Ohio Valley Conference Basketball in the Music City. Figger's squad dropped their first OVC contests of the season, falling to Tennessee State and Belmont. Midlick's women's team picked up a big OVC win against Tennessee State, Thursday, but fell on the road at Belmont, Saturday. Figger, Midlick, and Rives will also preview another huge weekend of OVC basketball, as the Governors welcome the Murray State Racers to the Dunn Center, Thursday, for the First Financial Bank Battle of the Border. Then on Saturday, Eastern Kentucky will come to town for another important day of OVC basketball.
With baseball kicking off its 2020 campaign, Rives and fifth-year head coach Travis Janssen will preview the upcoming season. Rives and Janssen will break down the Governors and their opening weekend matchup against the Eagles of Eastern Michigan.
Presented weekly, the Austin Peay Coaches Show will feature Austin Peay head basketball coaches Matt Figger and David Midlick throughout the Governors basketball season. Fans can join Figger, Midlick, and host Brian Rives each Tuesday at the newly-renovated Buffalo Wild Wings. Located on Hampton Place, just a stone's throw from Wilma Rudolph Boulevard, Buffalo Wild Wings returns for its third season as the host location for the Austin Peay Coaches' Show. In addition to the show, fans will be able to enjoy Buffalo Wild Wings' BOGO traditional wings special every Tuesday.
