CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Austin Peay men's basketball head coach Nate James announced the signing of guard Guy Fauntleroy on Monday as part of the 2022-23 recruiting class.
Last season at Olympus Prep Academy in Williamstown, N.J., Fauntleroy scored his 1000th career point while earning NJHoops.com Second Team All-State honors. Prior to Olympus Prep, Fauntleroy spent one season at Riverdale Baptist High School in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.
In 2019 at Riverdale Baptist, Fauntleroy played in eight games, averaging 21.1 points per game with five 20-point performances. In his junior season, Fauntleroy was a Capital Beltway Athletic Association First Team All-League member. Prior to Riverdale Baptist, Fauntleroy spent time at Rock Creek Christian Academy in Rosaryville, Maryland and St. John's High School in Washington, DC.
At St. John's HS, Fauntleroy played in 14 games, averaging 3.9 points per game with two double-digit performances. Fauntleroy had a breakout sophomore season in 2018 at Rock Creek Christian Academy. As a sophomore, Fauntleroy played in 22 games, averaging 17.6 points per game including a career-best 36-point performance against Oak Hill.
