Women’s Tennis Travels to Memphis for Tuesday Match

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Austin Peay State University women's tennis team travels to Memphis for a 1 p.m., Tuesday match against the Tigers at the Leftwich Tennis Center in Memphis, Tennessee.

Austin Peay (0-3) looks to claim its first win of the spring slate in Tuesday's contest. The Governors are coming off a 5-2 decision on the road against Louisville.

Asia Fontana and Pauline Bruns highlighted the Govs' trip to the Derby City, picking up each of the Govs' wins against the Cardinals in singles play, while Denise Torrealba and Sophia Baranov earned a 6-4 doubles victory from the No. 1 position.

Bruns has excelled in singles play to begin her collegiate career, as she currently leads the Govs with a perfect 3-0 mark in singles play thus far.

The Governors and Tigers last met in the 2023 regular-season finale, with Memphis (3-2) claiming the 4-0 victory.

Following Tuesday's match, the Govs host Western Kentucky in a 10 a.m., Saturday match in Evansville, Indiana.
